Le Cocon

In 2014, I created a participative installation in collaboration with the talented artist Marie-Josée Roy. This metal structure evolved as the public spins its own sample through different techniques (crochet, knot, knit, etc.), adding a layer to this giant evolutionary envelope. This led the participants into a playful and poetic world where they were invited to reflect on the notion of privacy, the process and the consequences of personal identity construction in the society. With this installation, the paradox between public and private spaces was also explored. Le Cocon was presented as part of the fifth edition of Chromatic Festival in May 2014 under the theme Habitat. In 2018, the metal structure was reused to support a dance performance.

Dimensions: 132 x 68 x 65 inches.
